Pro Dive Cairns is a PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Centre, the highest rating a dive centre can achieve, denoting excellence in diver training at all levels from beginner to instructor. Recognised as a world leader in all aspects of Scuba Diving Education, Pro Dive Cairns has effectively certified over 40,000 students.

Kevin and Rod took over Pro Dive Cairns as partners in 1984, and wasted no time mapping out plans for expansion. A three stage plan was decided upon and since then stage one, the building and establishment of an innovative diver training facility in Spence Street including class rooms and purpose built pool, has been completed.

Recently, stage two came to fruition with the launch of ournew vessel SCUBAPRO, in April 1998, and stage three will be the launch of a sister vessel to SCUBAPRO.

An attractive purpose-built 25 metre dive vessel, SCUBAPRO is air-conditioned and boasts 14 twin and 2 double cabins. Perfect for liveaboards and overnight trips, SCUBAPRO is also available for day and overnight diving or reef cruising charters for up to 32 guests.

The training centre is located in the city of Cairns and features Cairns deepest diver training pool, heated to a comfortable level in the colder months and with shade cloth for sun protection during summer. The centre also has changing rooms with showers, 2 air-conditioned classrooms, and on-site medical examination room.

The company employs approximately 40 staff, including Dive Instructors, administration staff, and sales and marketing personnel. Some staff have been with the company for over 10 years, and an active hands-on, open door approach are just some of the ingredients that have lead to the success of Pro Dive Cairns.

Great facilities and experienced management are only one part of the story. A spectacular diving experience is also guaranteed, and Pro Dive Cairns own exclusive moorings on the most easterly edge of the outer Great Barrier Reef to ensure spectacular, uncrowded and unspoilt recreational diving.

They regularly experience many of the diving options available from Tropical North Queensland and therefore can arrange any type of diving available, or required, including Learn To Dive courses, 1 day dive trips, and extended live-aboard cruises, at a range of Great Barrier Reef locations such as Ribbon Reefs, Cod Hole and the Coral Sea.
